BMG recently hosted a two-day open day event for customers to showcase the company’s extensive product range, which is supported by solutions based technical services throughout southern Africa. This event, which was held at BMG Park in Johannesburg, highlighted BMG’s different product and service divisions – bearings, seals, power transmission, drives, hydraulics, belting, fasteners, electronics and technical services.
“We were thrilled with the huge attendance of key players in diverse sectors of our business,” said Charles Walters, BMG’s CEO. “Growth at BMG has been organic and through strategic acquisitions the company increased its turnover to R2,4 billion in 2010, with a current group stockholding of R900 million. We have also been upgraded to BEE Level 3 status, which means customers can claim BEE procurement recognition of 110% against all purchases.”

BMG’s ongoing expansion programme includes plans for a major upgrade of the 40 000 m² warehousing facility. The hub of the distribution network is the central dispatch warehouse at BMG Park, which handles approximately 38 000 transfers a month. BMG stocks a large range of component parts to be able to build systems immediately, according to clients’ exact specifications.
