BMG Hydraulics launched

3rd Quarter 2009 News & events

BMG entered the local hydraulics market last year with the acquisition of Goldquest International Hydraulics. This new specialist division of BMG remains incorporated as Goldquest, but trades as BMG Hydraulics from 1 July 2009.

“The acquisition of Goldquest Hydraulics forms part of BMG’s strategic plan, which is to broaden the Group’s product offering and solutions capability in the engineering marketplace,” says Ian King, sales director of BMG – Bearing Man Group. “BMG’s solutions driven approach to engineering encompasses a project management and consulting facility that integrates different technologies, from hydraulics and pneumatics, to electronics and information technology.

BMG Hydraulics, headed by managing director, Greg Lester, combines quality branded components, hydraulic engineering and contamination control, as well as a test and repair service, to ensure optimum performance and extended service life of a customer’s hydraulic systems. The division is ISO 9001:2000 accredited to ensure the integrity of every hydraulic system.

BMG Hydraulics retains Goldquest’s distribution rights for leading hydraulic brands like Eaton/Vickers, Kawasaki Staffa, Marzocchi, Bieri, Hydrokraft, OMT, Larzep, Pister, Schroeder, EP Italiana, ISO, Blanke, Oleoweb, Emmegi and Pilan.

Products available from BMG Hydraulics include variable and fixed displacement pumps, industrial and mobile valves, accumulators, low and high-speed motors, as well as cylinders. The division will continue to operate the turnkey project capability built up over its many years of Vickers and Goldquest experience.

BMG has expanded its operation significantly over 35 years and lays claim to the title of Africa’s largest specialist distributor of bearings, seals, power transmission components, electric and geared motors, belting, fasteners, filtration and hydraulics.
