Diarise the Industrial Technology Exhibition

First Quarter 2007 News & events

The festive season is over, the fishing rods and surfboards are back in the garage, and 2007 lies ahead rich with opportunity for growth and development. One of the most attractive and magnetic happenings if you are looking to grow your business in the KwaZulu-Natal region, is the KwaZulu-Natal Industrial Technology Exhibition taking place between 5 and 8 June at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

The exhibition is in its 13th year, and on show will be many past exhibitors, generally showcasing new products, as well as a number of new exhibitors, especially in the safety and security arena.

One of the previous exhibitors will be Supersafe Systems. This small company makes non-slip products to ensure safety in business and this year will be launching a new improved stair tread.

On show for the first time, will be Spring Lights Gas which has been in operation since 2002. Since its inception, the company has successfully marketed and supplied piped gas to a variety of industrial customers throughout KwaZulu-Natal, including Newcastle, Richards Bay, Phoenix, Verulam and the Durban South Basin.

The methane rich gas supplied is primarily used as an energy source and finds its application in different industries. These include:

* Metal sector where it can be used for heat treatment, melting, forging, preheating, curing and galvanising.

* Chemical industry, mainly for steam generation and heating.

* Food and commercial industry for steam generation, baking, frying, oil heating, water heating, space heating and cooking.

* Ceramic and non-metals industry for heating, baking, curing and glass melting.

* Manufacturing industry for painting, curing, air heating, injection moulding, melting and steam generation.

The company instantly supplies sufficient fuel from the pipeline system to meet your needs, and this system offers the benefit of eliminating storage and ordering costs. It is also very safe to use as it has a distinct rotten egg smell due to odorant mercaptan which is added to the gas allowing for immediate leak detection. The equipment is also fitted with numerous safety devices and the entire process is strictly regulated.
