Clutch and brake manufacturer seeks local representative
Fourth Quarter 2005
News & events
Force Control Industries - a leading manufacture of clutches and brakes for mining and building materials industries, is looking for a motivated, energetic and focused independent representative with a strong mechanical/motion control background.
Force Control Industries is a 36-year old manufacturer of high performance mechanical motion products and systems. Major products include clutch and brake products using oil shear technology for superior life, high cycle capability and superior positioning control. Its products have become industry standards in the shingle, chain-link fence, insulation and wood products industries; and they are quickly becoming popular in the mining and oil exploration industries - particularly in areas having harsh operating conditions.
A typical example is the insulation industry: fibreglass insulation is made on a continuous process line moving at 1,63 to 2,44 m/s. A guillotine knife cuts the insulation to length - typically chopping 60-80 times per minute. The insulation manufacturer wanted to speed up the line. But even at the slow speed of 1,63 m/s, they were getting 12 to 20 mm variations per cut. This may not sound like much but if the line is running for 1 hour at 80 cuts per minute, this amounts to 60 to 90 m of waste in one hour. After installing Force Control Industries' clutch brake system, the plant was able to maintain a 1,6 to 3,2 mm variation in length and was able to handle increased line speed.
To help its sales representatives, Force Control Industries has developed a 'designer's toolbox'. The toolbox consolidates more than 30 years of engineering experience and proven results by the company. Force Control Industries is looking for somebody currently solving problems for OEMs and end-users of mine conveyor systems, saw mills, and other building products.
