Tectra Automation awarded Stäubli Robots agency

Fourth Quarter 2005 News & events

Tectra Automation has been awarded the sole South African agency for Stäubli Robots, of which there are already several in operation throughout the country.

Known for their speed, accuracy and rigidity, typical applications range from machine loading and unloading to handling and manipulation, quality control and measuring, precision surface finishing (polishing and grinding) and painting. Consisting of 15 different 6-axes models and three different 4-axes models, the Stäubli range is also available in special executions designed for applications in the plastics industry or clean room applications. All 6-axes robots are made to IP protection class 65 as a standard. The unique design of the main joints allows the robots to be mounted in any orientation such as on walls or even upside down. The joint design of the new TX range is said to be 30% stiffer than any other robot on the market.

Tectra is able to offer customers a variety of solutions for any type of mechanical automation task from simple single axis systems to 3-axes Cartesian motion systems or 4-axes SCARA robots to 6-axes articulated robots.
