SAFPA has for many years run a hose safety course providing an introduction to hydraulic hose connectors and the safe assembly of these components. It is aimed at OEM artisans, foremen, supervisors, managers and all personnel involved in the assembly and supply of hydraulic hose and connectors. SAFPA has now received the full training manual from the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA). This is currently being redesigned to suit South African conditions. It will cover further aspects of hydraulic hose assembly, including quality assurance and safe disposal of damaged and replaced hose assembly in accordance with current legislative requirements. The course will be extended from the current one day of training. It should be ready for presentation in a few months’ time.
