SAFPA now has a new managing agent, VdW & Co. Motion Control’s editor caught up – virtually − with account executive, Cynthia Badenhorst to find out more about its plans for SAFPA. VdW & Co is an association management company, and carries out the day to day operations of associations. Starting as an accounting firm, the company has been going for 60 years and has now evolved into association management with 24 clients in industries ranging from energy to explosion prevention to engineering to electrical. This provides an opportunity for cross-industry collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas.
“We run virtual meetings, conferences and events, all backed up by our full events team,” she says. “It’s all about networking. We are finding that our virtual programmes are even better attended than the previous in-person ones. We have had our first virtual council meeting with SAFPA and the first virtual technical evening will be on 17 September. We have also created social media platforms and set up links. We are encouraging council members to connect and share with their own networks to grow awareness of SAFPA.”
