SAI is reaffirming its commitment to ‘local for local’ by moving SAI South Africa to a new expanded facility in Cape Town. This boasts a 350 m2 workshop, assembly cells and improved energy efficiency and management of environmental waste. Most importantly, the move is strengthening the company’s ‘local for local’ mission and will give customers faster access to its product lines.
SAI’s distribution service handles shipments to customers all over southern Africa, supporting them with functions such as assembly, testing, quality control, shipping and after-sales service. Customers served out of the Cape Town facility include those in the construction, agricultural mobile equipment, marine and offshore, drilling and mining industries, as well as specialty and test machinery.
SAI’s commitment to running a clean factory and continuously reducing CO2 emissions is carried through using test stands and manufacturing equipment that incorporate SAI products.
The company’s ongoing move towards ‘local for local’ results in the best lead times in the industry for the delivery of hundreds of motors, gearboxes, brakes and accessories. 90% of SAI’s range of products are delivered from Cape Town in five working days, and the company is committed to expanding this to 100% in the near future.
