Hydraulic Training & Consultants and The Fluid Power Group of Companies recently collaborated on the design and manufacture of a dual-sided training rig. The first unit has already been sold and negotiations are in progress for another two.
Initial market exposure has seen wide interest in the product internationally, with mailers to the USA, UK and Europe showing response rates high above the industry average. For example, information sent on this product generally received response rates of over 22% against an industry average of 18,3% (source: Mailchimp). This shows that the product is highly suitable for both international and South African markets. A pneumatic rig has now been added as an option. This dual-sided training rig is extremely cost-effective and could become the industry norm.
The components used are standard manifold mounted industrial units that conform to ISO 4401/CETOP R35H size 3 (NFPA D01/DIN 24340 (NG6). The units are stacked onto manifolds and clip onto the work panel, enabling interconnection of the components by means of quick coupled hose assemblies. The manifolds are standard units, allowing future additions to the range of components being used on the rig. This also allows for component assemblies to be changed. Line mounted components can be used as well. Training rig components are offered with options of manual, electrical or proportional operation.
