SEW-Eurodrive and Eureka Construction partnership

3rd Quarter 2016 News & events

For more than three decades, milling industries across Africa have relied on dependable equipment manufactured by Eureka Construction which has been making use of motors since being established in 1980. Free State-based Eureka Construction has a team of 25 employees specialising in the manufacture of milling equipment, including conveyors, elevators, chain conveyors for the wheat and maize industries, and specialised conveyors and cake breakers for the palm oil industry. Eureka Construction owner Koos Theunissen says that the company’s wide product range is exported to high profile clients in countries such as Lesotho, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal. “Our clients include Afgri, Bokomo, Resulta, Sasko, Premier and Tiger Brands,” he elaborates.

Theunissen says all of Eureka Construction’s motors are supplied by SEW-Eurodrive. “We have received excellent service since day one with regard to delivery times and aftersales support. SEW-Eurodrive also boasts a far greater variety of products of the highest internationally recognised quality. As a result, we make regular purchases, the most recent being an order for 23 geared motors,” he continues. According to Theunissen, steel availability is a challenge in the industry and leads to delays. “The economic slowdown in South Africa is also a challenge. Despite these challenges, we continue to perform strongly and will continue to partner with SEW-Eurodrive for the foreseeable future,” he concludes.
