The T3L from PSY Systems is a highly visible optical speed indicating system which contributes to road safety by allowing motorists to understand the speed intentions of the motorist in front. It consists of an ABB CPU that operates in conjunction with conventional vehicle braking indication systems.
Designed for both OEM and retrofit markets, the T3L unit has a display indicator situated at the rear of the vehicle, either in the rear window or embedded in the boot spoiler or roof spoiler. It has a standard vehicle speed sensor. Both display and sensor plug into the ABB CPU unit. Speed changes are represented by coloured lights, rear window colour fusion or alphanumeric characters.
It has a number of advantages: it can improve the flow of traffic by synchronising traffic flow during normal or congested traffic conditions; it enhances visibility; it signals vehicle speed changes during night driving or bad weather conditions; and it reduces the number of rear end collisions caused by poor understanding of traffic flow.
