Aluminium motor has multimount design
Second Quarter 2008
Electrical switching & drive systems & components
Motor manufacturer CMG has extended its range of drive motors with the three phase SLA Series, an aluminium frame, multimount motor, available in sizes 56 to 160 (0,09 to 18,5 kW).
SLA 15 kW 4 pole 380 V aluminium electric motor from CMG
The series features low weight design and is ideal for air movement applications. The motor is supplied with top-mounted terminal box and detachable feet. This multimount design allows the motor feet to be removed and the motor to be mounted from any of the 16 mounting pads. For axial flow fans there is no longer a need for a motor mount in the fan case. This facilitates quicker assembly, offers less restriction to air flow and reduces cost. Alternatively, the feet may be relocated to either side for a wall-mounted motor or can be completely removed to enable mounting from the multimount pads.
All SLA flange mounted motors from 90 to 160 frames are manufactured with a locked drive end bearing, which suits pump applications where minimal axial shaft movement is critical to provide tight tolerances for impellers. CMG can supply a locked bearing option for smaller frame sizes and foot mounted motors on request. CMG can meet special bearing applications offering alternative bearing types and low/high temperature bearing grease.
The endshields are manufactured from aluminium and frames of 90 to 160 are fitted with steel inserts for the bearings. Cast iron or special endshields can be manufactured to specification.
There are various special winding options available for single and multispeed applications and other special performance requirements.
SLA motor efficiency levels comply with the minimum efficiency requirements as per AS/NZS (equivalent to European standards Eff 2).
