The light screen EZ-Array made by Banner, RET's cooperation partner, is temperature resistant between -40 and +70°C and features two switching and two analog outputs. The light screen has a resolution of 5 mm. The user can choose between PNP and NPN switching outputs, as well as between 0-10 V and 4-20 mA analog outputs. Thanks to the anodised aluminium housing, the light screen is optimally suited for the application in rough environments.
The two-component light screen enables simple commissioning. The signal processor is entirely integrated in the receiver housing and can be configured via six DIP switches. A 3-digit display and a LED bargraph indicate the status and the orientation of the emitter and the receiver. If required, the configuration can also be implemented with the delivered software. For this purpose the same RS485 interface is used as for the data transmission in the Modbus-RTU protocol. As the signal processor unit is integrated entirely in the receiver housing, no external controller is necessary.
The EZ-Array can be adjusted to nearly all applications above the 5 mm resolution limit. The available operating modes are detection of the first, last or middle blocked beam, the number of blocked beams, the number of blocks, and also inverting and blanking functions. With these functions the device can be used for hole detection, contour measuring continuous-path control or object scanning.
