Kollmorgen Seidel is now offering its new generation of fully digital servo amplifiers, the Servostar 300. Available from Stone-Stamcor, the device is smaller than its predecessor - effective use of space has allowed all the functionality of the Servostar series to be had in applications where space is very limited. As long as the cables are shorter than 25 m there is no need for filters or chokes, and the slot for option cards is compatible with Servostar 600.
Features include:
* Operation directly from earthed 3-phase mains supply.
* Integral mains filter.
* All shield connections directly at the amplifier.
* DC-link circuits can be connected in parallel.
* Fully programmable via RS232 inter-face.
* Operation from a PC via Danaher Motion operator software (with Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP).
* Operation via two keys on the amplifier.
* Status monitoring via LED display.
* 230 V type suitable for 200 mm switchgear cabinets.
Standard equipment includes an interface integrated for stepper controllers, master-slave operation, electrical gearing, integrated CANopen, integrated position controller with memory for 180 motion tasks, intelligent positioning, speed profiles, register control, jolt limiting, daisy chained tasks, absolute and relative tasks, several types of reference traverses, encoder emulation (incremental or absolute) and feedback from resolver or high resolution sine-cosine encoder.
Thanks to its open hardware and software architecture, the Servostar 300 amplifier is ready for essentially all conceivable customer specific modifications and fieldbus interfaces, including:
* Profibus DP (optional).
* SERCOS-Interface (optional).
* DeviceNet (optional), ODVA conformance tested.
* I/O-extension board (optional).
* Single axis controller (optional).
High-resolution motion tasks
The integrated encoder interface makes it possible to connect a high-resolution, single or multiturn sine-cosine encoder as feedback unit directly to the amplifier. "The digital current controller (space vector PWM, 62,5 µs), the programmable digital speed controller (62,5 µs) and the integrated position controller (adaptable to nearly every motion task) are highlights of innovation in digital control technology," says Kollmorgen Seidel.
