BMG’s Pumprite range, a key brand in the company’s fluid technology portfolio, encompasses lubrication, grease, oil and abrasive fluid handling equipment, all designed and manufactured locally to cope efficiently with Africa’s demanding operating conditions. It includes a wide range of pneumatic and manual pumping and transfer solutions for grease, oil, chemicals, grout, cement, air, water, petroleum, antifreeze, hydraulic oils, diesel fuel and detergents.
Applications include the transfer of product, lubrication of machinery, greasing, pack setting, rock grouting, washing, fixed systems, mobile systems and drag lines.
“BMG’s strategy to enhance its fluid technology services to meet growing market demand involves the introduction of new products embracing the latest developments in design technology, materials and coatings,” says Weylin Kapp, national product manager, lubrication. “Through our expansion programme in the fluid technology sector we have also increased our stockholding in more than 160 BMG branches with a wide distribution network in South Africa and across borders into Swaziland, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Tanzania.”
Grease range
BMG’s Pumprite grease range encompasses pneumatic grease transfer pumps for standard or high pressure applications, or applications where long piping lines with various take off points are needed. It also includes spring feed lubricators that automate the greasing process for machinery, bearing housings, conveyor systems and earthmoving vehicles. These are designed for single point lubrication, with an on-demand operating principle and immediate activation. In addition, bearing packers used in conjunction with manual grease pumps for even lubrication of bearings are available. Also in the range are heavy duty retractable hose reels, foot operated grease pumps and hand lever grease guns.
Viscosity oils
Products recommended for handling viscosity oils include pneumatic oil pumps supplied with a Parker P31 mini-series air supply lubricator for continuous lubrication and protection. These pumps, which can be stalled without damage, ensure failsafe operation and extended service life. Retractable hose reels for oil and fuel are also available.
Manually operated
Manually operated mobile field greasers are designed for high pressure or high volume applications. An important feature is that these field greasers are placed directly onto standard sized grease containers and locked in position so grease is not touched by hand.
The manual oil and fuel range includes pumps for gear oil, hand rotary pumps and wing pumps. It consists of gear oil bucket pumps, hand rotary pumps and K2 wing pumps, as well as various meters, filters and accessories. The G-Gun foot operated grease pumps are used by a single operator to load grease from large containers efficiently. Hand lever grease guns have a patented twin-lock system which ensures the correct amount of greasing takes place during each pump. No other grease gun can guarantee this.
Abrasive range
The pneumatic abrasive pump range handles cementitious fluids like grout, as well as chemicals, acids, solvents and anti-freeze. Wash/solvent pumps efficiently handle all water-based fluids.
Robust range
Robust Pumprite pumps that can be stalled without damage ensure failsafe operation in arduous conditions. The reciprocating air piston has been designed for an even and non-pulsating delivery of product. The Parker filter/lubricator system removes dirt and excess moisture from the air before they enter the air motor of the pump and ensures air input is regulated at a safe pressure.
High grade material
All components are manufactured from high grade material such as LM25 aluminium and EN8 mild steel. Crucial parts are heat treated with a ground finish for protection against wear, even in demanding environments. Air motors are anodised for extended service life and robust LLDPE accessories, including drum covers, are corrosion resistant. All pumps are supported by a one year manufacturing warranty.
24 /7 support
Kapp says that BMG’s dependable technical support service ensures optimum safety, efficiency and extended service life of every system, even in corrosive environments. “With our broad technical capabilities, we can solve problems in applications where conventional components have failed after short periods of service. BMG’s fluid technology services also cover project engineering and consulting, cylinder design and manufacture, training, repair and testing, as well as onsite container services,” he explains.
BMG is committed to providing 24 hour customer support. This service is enhanced by advanced technical and design support across all functional disciplines. The company’s extensive range of components for fluid technology systems and general industrial applications includes valves, hydraulic hoses and fittings, accumulators, cylinders, heat exchangers, hydraulic motors and hydraulic plumbing, as well as pumps and reservoir accessories.
