Electrical switching & drive systems & components
BMG Drives has launched a new generation of energy efficient electric motors, the IE2 range, which is distinguishable by a yellow cowl.
These motors, which replace BMG’s EFF1 range, ensure high efficiency, reduced energy consumption, extended motor life and low operating costs. They are most efficient when running at full load, where energy savings of up to 3% can be achieved. Further energy savings of up to 30% can be achieved by ensuring that mating components such as the gearbox and couplings are energy efficient and correctly fitted.
Apart from energy saving, high efficiency motors have further advantages over standard electric motors. These include longer service life, suitability for voltage variation applications, reduced temperature rise and minimal maintenance requirements. New features include an IP66 rating for the motor enclosure for enhanced protection against dust and water, Class H insulation for safe operation in high temperature applications and a bigger terminal box for easy access to the cables.
The bearings are lubricated with high temperature grease for reliable performance. An added advantage is that all components are interchangeable with IE1 motors.
Other energy efficient products from BMG also include self tensioning motor bases, frequency converters, vibrator motors and synthetic oils.
