Opportunity knocks in the hydraulic hose industry

3rd Quarter 2014 News & events

Over the last 25 years, Genflex Hydraulics has grown into a major supplier of hydraulic hoses and fittings. The company now wishes to expand its outlets by allowing suitable entrepreneurs to participate in growing Genflex’s agent and distributor networks.

Director David Michelle said that the Genflex Hydraulics name is a valuable asset to have when starting a new venture. “We see this expansion programme embracing individual companies whilst Genflex retains a small percentage of ownership. Genflex is prepared to contribute to the start-up costs, although there are no franchise costs to this venture. We see these new agencies and distributorships being incorporated into existing small companies already servicing other areas of business but wanting to increase their turnover by adding new product ranges to their offerings,” he said.

It is estimated that over three quarters of a million metres of hydraulic hose are used in South Africa each month. Genflex also offers complementary products such as hydraulic tubing, component fittings, quick release couplings, air-line fittings, nylon tubing and nylon fittings. Genflex believes that even in the smallest towns, a good living can be made by a dedicated individual operator.

Michelle said, “This is an entirely new focus for Genflex. We can add value to other entrepreneurs who have the energy, skills and perseverance to build up their own enterprises. We are looking to hear from entrepreneurs who have sales and communications skills, who are able to engage across all levels of business and who are dedicated to providing a professional and reliable service through sheer hard work. ”
