It was an evening of fun and entertainment at the prestigious Bryanston Country Club for SAFPA's Annual Dinner on 11 June. Members and their guests mingled for cocktails, a bit of shoptalk and catching up with friends and acquaintances, before being seated in the Grosvenor Room for dinner. Background music during the meal was provided by C'est La Vie Mobile Disco.
The guest speaker for the evening, Fanie de Villiers, had the audience enthralled with his tales of the Springboks 'on tour'. Some of the behind-the-scenes stories just had to be heard to be believed! Favourites ranged from the fish in the airconditioner designed to obtain a room swap, to the famous episodes using the robot car to carry drinks onto the field. He assures us those of the team with mischievous habits were made pretty poor after surrendering their match fees in fines when caught out (pardon the pun)! It was good to hear how the boys have fun from all the stories divulged by Fanie, who is such an entertaining speaker.
Bryanston Country Club provided their customary exceptional food and service, and guests rounded up the evening with an energetic bout of dancing to the music of C'est La Vie.
