2nd Quarter 2010Electrical switching & drive systems & components
Kübler’s new generation of slip rings, IST-SR085 and
IST-SR060 (dimensions: ø 85 mm and 60 mm) combine technical innovation with product quality and compact size.
Designed for use in diverse applications such as for video surveillance CCTV equipment, cranes and rotary tables, they transmit electrical load current, signals or data from a stationary to a rotating platform. The transmission between the stator and rotor units takes place via sliding contacts (up to 40 A) and is extremely reliable. Fieldbus signals such as Profibus, CANopen etc, can be transmitted at up to 12 Mb. Modular construction gives a high degree of flexibility, model SR060 is, for example, ideally suited for the heating of sealing rollers in packaging machines.
The possibility to selectively combine the various load and signal channels makes customising simple with dust protection and electrical isolation ensured by the integrated labyrinth seal. An encapsulated housing provides an IP64 protection rating, resistance to vibration and a service life of over 500 million revolutions.
The units are simple and convenient to handle and maintain as a result of the sturdy connections, removable maintenance window and the individually replaceable brush rings.
