In response to the increasing importance of Ethernet connectivity for field instrumentation Kübler now offers IP67 protected single-turn and multiturn encoders with an EtherCAT interface in the robust Sendix range.
EtherCAT provides the user with a continuous signal down to the field level, realtime capability as well as many additional advantages, such as distributed clock for realtime position detection and hot connect. In many applications these features can translate into significant cost advantages and improved productivity.
Sendix EtherCAT encoders operate on the CAN over EtherCAT (CoE) principle. In addition to position information the devices offer numerous special functions such as speed, acceleration, temperature monitoring, recording the operating time and storing customer-entered data like tag number or installation location in plain text.
The resolution for the single turn devices is 16 bit with a total resolution of 28 bit, and for multiturn devices up to 12 bit.
All parameters can be programmed via the bus, ensuring fast error-free commissioning.
Acoustic warning and alarm signals provide diagnostic information which reduces machine downtimes.
