Bosch Rexroth has developed a pre-assembled handling system, camoLINE, which reduces the design and assembly efforts for users. Now, customers can send the required performance data and connection dimensions to Rexroth via e-mail, and in turn, receive a pre-assembled handling system with perfectly matched standard components.
Bosch Assembly Systems and the Special Machinery Business Unit are responsible for the development and manufacture of special machinery and systems for the production of high-quality products, especially for the automotive industry. The building system comprises a broad spectrum of freely combinable electrical and pneumatic axes with standardised mechanical interfaces in Easy-2-Combine design. The design replaces the usual complex adapter plates and ensures reproducible accuracy when installing.
Rexroth supplies the handling systems either as individual components or pre-assembled systems with matching drives and controls. The engineer sends an e-mail stating the connection dimensions of the assembly table involved, the target positioning co-ordinates, the weights of the work pieces and the cycle times and Rexroth then uses this data to configure a complete handling system and finalise the computer-aided design (CAD) data with the customer.
After the customer has approved the design, Rexroth pre-assembles the handling system with all the specified pneumatic actuators, servo or stepping motors, cable drag chains and drive controllers. This is delivered as a turnkey system directly to the customer.
In pneumatic pick-and-place applications, the camoLINE can handle stroke lengths up to 200 mm and move work pieces with a weight of up to 17 kg.
For customers, this product's building system simplifies the entire design, installation and start-up process. Bosch Germany group leader Michael Holm says, "camoLINE has allowed us to reduce component and supplier complexity so that we can now work with one comprehensive, standardised building system and with one partner instead of many."

To use AI responsibly and effectively, you need at least a basic understanding of how they work and where they can fail. Generative AI then becomes a powerful assistant; without it, you are effectively ‘prompting and praying’, exposing yourself to errors and professional embarrassment.
