Muting modules automatically suspend safeguarding during non-hazardous times in a machine cycle. Their use streamlines operations by letting materials flow into and out of a manufacturing cell and allowing operators to interact more closely with machinery while at the same time reducing the risk of injury.
Muting modules are effective in simultaneously maintaining the safety and operational efficiency of manufacturing cells
New muting modules have been released by Banner Engineering. With these compact modules, industrial vehicles, pallets and materials can move into or from a machine process without tripping the primary safeguard system. The DIN-Muting Module offers a simple cabinet-mount for easy installation and is ideal for use with Banner's family of safety light-screen products, such as Ez-Screen, Micro-Screen, Mini-Screen and Machine-Guard, or any manufacturer's devices with hard contacts or solid-state PNP outputs.
The DIN-Muting Module uses redundancy and self-checking to deliver a high degree of safety reliability. It is designed to interface in a Category 2, 3 or 4 safety circuit and also to meet control reliability requirements. The module is equipped with LED status indicator lights that deliver system status information at a glance. A 2-digit diagnostic display provides error codes for easy diagnosis of system malfunctions.
