Rexroth, locally represented by Tectra Automation, is bringing the successful launch phase of its new drive generation, IndraDrive, to an end with additional interfaces for control communication. Having already sold more than 20 000 intelligent IndraDrives since they were first presented at the 2003 Hannover Trade Fair, the drive specialist has established itself as a leading supplier of open drive technology. Additional interfaces for control communication cover other areas of application and open up yet more possibilities for the deployment of drive-integrated safety functions.
In addition to the SERCOS interface, PROFIBUS, CANopen, DeviceNet, analogue and parallel interface, the intelligent drives now also support PROFINET IO and PROFISAFE as standard. That is enabling Rexroth to build up a commanding position in the field of certified drive-integrated safety functions and opens up additional degrees of freedom. Alongside the definition of SERCOS III, the latest generation of the world's only standardised drive interface, Rexroth is also developing the corresponding Ethernet interface - which means that the entire IndraDrive range of drives, from 1,5 to 120 kW, is available for innovative concepts right at the start of the new standard.
