Electro hydraulic actuator
Third Quarter 2005
Hydraulic systems & components
Hydromobile has developed an electro hydraulic actuator to meet market trends for more efficient hydraulic systems. The actuator is unique in that it is an integral unit, incorporating a hydraulic cylinder with a power pack. The device is suitable for many applications, including ventilation doors, hoppers, chutes, sluice gates, gate valves and pinch valves, etc.
Electric motors are available with cast iron or aluminium frames, up to IP65 protection as well as spark proof. Pressure capabilities are from 500 kPa to 30 MPa and it is available in a single or double acting configuration.
The actuator can be designed for normally open or close operations, position operation, as well as operation via PLC. It is possible to positively lock the actuator in any required position. Emergency closing operation is available on request. Various control voltages are available, including DC: 12, 24, 110 V and DC: 100, 220 V.
The actuator includes a cooling tube, allowing it to operate for extended periods without overheating. The sealing arrangement has been designed to adhere to stringent mining and industrial applications. The stroke, bore and rod diameters are manufactured to customer specifications. The cylinder rods are a hard chromed CK45 material. The cylinder barrel is ST52 cold drawn, seamless honed tube. All actuators are painted with epoxy, primer, intermediate and final coat, or any alternate paint specification as required by the customer. All actuators are subjected to a 100% pressure test and quality inspection prior to dispatch.
